STADIUM USAGE

The mission of the RDC is to provide a first class sports facility for the use and enjoyment of the people of the State of Delaware and visitors to our state.

The Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware (RDC) owns the stadium and leases it to the Wilmington Blue Rocks minor league baseball team. Under the terms of that lease, the Blue Rocks also operate and maintain the stadium facility on a day-to-day basis. Since 1993, the Blue Rocks have played over 2000 baseball games and the RDC has also hosted over 1500 events. These community events include college, high school and amateur baseball, softball football, soccer games and band competitions.

Special Events have included the Delaware Stadium Corporation Cup High School Baseball Tournament, The NCAA America East Conference Collegiate Baseball Tournament and great inter-state rivalry games between the University of Delaware playing Delaware State University and Wilmington College playing the University of Delaware. The State High School Baseball Championship game is played at Frawley Stadium every year along with the Blue and Gold Baseball High School All-Star game.
Other noteworthy baseball tournaments have included the PAC Collegiate Championship, which included Wesley College, the Carpenter Cup and the CACC Baseball Playoffs which included Wilmington University.
Artists such as the Beach Boys have performed under the stars, at the stadium, before a sold out audience. Many corporations have utilized the stadium for company picnics and softball games.
